The Drums of War

____________

As [Jesus] sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered them, "See that [you deceive no one]. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. (Matt 24:3–8 emphasis added)

1.

A person doesn’t need to be a prophet of God to know that the world is a dangerous place, and becoming more dangerous day by day even if Islamic fundamentalists are being pushed back into their caves. Yesterday, to a joint meeting of Congress and to a deliberately deaf Obama Administration, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a powerful warning against permitting the Islamic Republic [Iran] to acquire nuclear weapons, but is there really anything the world community can do to prevent a neo-Persian Empire from sacking Babylon, the great merchandising empire built on nearly unfettered transactions?

This is what’s at stake: war between the kings of Persia and the transitional kingdom of Babylon that exists today and that bridges the gulf between historical Babylon and spiritual Babylon, with this transitional Babylon having roots in this world but an ideology that is of heaven, but not necessarily of God.

Ancient King Nebuchadnezzar formed the left hand or chiral image of the spiritual King of Babylon (Isa 14:4), the Adversary, an anointed guardian cherub who sought to be like the Most High God. But between Nebuchadnezzar as a human king and the Adversary as the reigning prince of the power of the air are two transitional figures, the man of perdition [the lawless one of 2 Thess 2:3] in the Affliction, and the Antichrist in the Endurance, with the man of perdition being a human man possessed by the Adversary, and with the Antichrist being the Adversary cast into space-time and given the mind of a man … the transitional figures are foreshadowed by King Nebuchadnezzar having his reason taken from him for seven years and given the mind of a beast, an ox.

Babylon itself, like its king, should have a transitional type of itself that is neither fully physical nor fully spiritual, with this transitional type having one face in this present world and one face in spiritual Jerusalem, meaning that of necessity, transitional Babylon will have two spiritual faces, one that emphasizes the flesh as in physical circumcision, and one that emphasizes the trappings of Christian orthodoxy.

A person can search from one side of Western Europe to the other and not find enough Christians to field an army. The same cannot be said about North America, but can be said about the American military that presently permits openly gay soldiers to fight for the nation. So if a person wanted to employ a “Christian” army to fight a war, where would the person find such an army? Not in China or Japan. Not in India. But with the breakup of the former Soviet Union, the Russian Orthodox Church has resumed its formative role in Russian society.

Russia’s economy hasn’t the strength or reserve of either the American or the Chinese economy, but Russia’s economy is based upon transactions. So with a nudge here and one there; with the natural resources of the nation; with the nation’s flat tax, Russia can step around the economic sanctions presently imposed by, mostly, President Obama and mount an assault on the economic vitality of, in particular, the United States. Such an assault would most likely come in the form of the world trading oil as a currency other than the U.S. dollar.

For a moment, setting Russia aside as its “green” troops continue their low-grade invasion of Ukraine but accepting the reality that if any nation were to field a “Christian” army, Russia would be that nation—where would a person look to find people analogous to the man of perdition who will declare himself God inside the temple of God? What sort of people would have that sort of audacity? A people for whom God is not real? Possibly.

The American economy is still the largest in the world: we are still Babylon, regardless of whether we want to be. Even as Christianity wanes in America, we remain a “Christian” nation. And as such, we are the target upon which the Islamic Republic has set its sights …

America is the “Babylon” that the neo-Persian Empire topples … America is not spiritual Babylon, but is a transitional form that falls as if it tripped over its own feet.

One blow below the belt, and America is down: the Second Passover liberation of Israel from indwelling Sin and Death will be more than America can handle. Two point four billion people killed in a day; half of America’s population gone in a day. When grief counselors have to be brought in because a schoolchild dies—what sort of a nation has America become? A country of wimps. A nation of marshmallows? Following a pied piper in a green frog suit. Com’on, we can do better than that. And we have to if we are to survive: for, yes, America will lose half of its population in a day. Western European nations will lose more than half.

Question, how strong would a Russian-Iranian Axis be, especially if Shiite Iran were to gain control of Islam’s holy sites: Mecca [Masjid al-Haram surrounding the Kaaba], Medina [Al-Masjid an Nabawi, the Mosque of the Prophet], and Jerusalem [Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Farthest Mosque]? Could Shia Islam wrestle control of Saudi Arabia away from the Sunni puppet king, a tool of Western nations and their oil companies? Might take a while, but as Prime Minister Netanyahu said in his speech yesterday, Tehran isn’t interested in joining the world’s community of nations, but in gobbling up nations.

Prime Minister Netanyahu inserted a warning in his speech yesterday that has been implied often and sometimes stated since the joint French-Israeli nuclear program of 1957-58 that would produced the French atomic bomb. This warning comes in the form of, Never Again! The Samson Option.

I started high school fall 1959, as a twelve year old freshman, with math and science being my easy courses but with history being my interest. So I followed the few news items that surfaced about the French nuclear weapons program, a program which employed Israeli scientists and gave to these scientists unlimited access to test data. I remember news articles about the Dimona [Israel] desalination plant, and the hype about causing the desert to bloom like a rose—I didn’t then know that these press articles were disinformation. I wouldn’t know this until after I was drafted into the Body of Christ; until after the Yom Kippur War, when America hastily resupplied Israel, its tanks then only hours out of Cairo with no resistance between the Israeli tank spearhead and the Egyptian capital that the Soviet Union had pledged to protect, a situation that would have led to WWIII if Israel had not stopped its advance. Oh, I sort of knew that Israel had nuclear weaponry based upon discussions with my Chemistry teacher, a U.S. Navy nuclear researcher who took the teaching position at Taft for a year until better employment opened to him … I was a senior the following year, fall 1962, when the Soviet Union placed medium range nuclear missiles on Cuba. We did the math: where we were on the Oregon Coast, we were just out of range of those Soviet missiles. But that didn’t lessen our interest in the game of brinksmanship which saw JFK blink—not Khrushchev, as Americans are usually taught. For we pulled our nuclear missiles from Turkey and promised not to invade Cuba in exchange for the Soviet Union withdrawing what was actually at least one functional launch site.

We were the generation of grade-schoolers that practiced duck and cover; that looked to see where irrigation ditches were, ditches deep enough to shelter a person from straight-line radiation; that projected distances for blast waves and firestorms from a 20,000 foot aerial detonation over Portland, or over Seattle.

Were we psychologically damaged by having grown to adulthood in the shadow of the bomb? If we were, then what about Jews exiting Europe for a homeland of their own; Jews knowing that the world could have intervened more forcibly that it did in 1935, 1937, 1938, 1939 when many Jews attempted to escape Europe only to be turned around and sent back to certain death? What about them? What does Never Again mean to them? My generation of them are still alive. And I know how easy it would be—today—to execute the Samson Option, especially when most of the person’s life is behind them, not in front of them. So does not Never Again mean that as Samson pulled down the pillars of the Philistine temple, killing himself as well as thousands of them, Israel will instigate nuclear war rather than meekly shuffle off to gas chambers … it won’t be the ground that cries out, You, Muslim, kill the Jew who hides here, but rather,

The kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?" (Rev 6:15–17)

And this occurs roughly a year and a half into seven endtime years of tribulation—for 360 days, men will hide as vermin in holes as the Lamb batters and slays those who have slain the righteous during the preceding year.

Pause for a moment: if the United States of America were to serve as a transitional model of Babylon, a transitional model that falls shortly after the Second Passover liberation of Israel, who would provide a nuclear umbrella over Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, even Turkey? Would not all of these secular Sunni nations have to come to terms with Iran, making the best deal they can from a position of weakness? Or would they fight Iran, Shi’a versus Sunni? And wouldn’t one bomb be enough to remove Israel from the Holy Land forever. Then truly the Far Mosque would be far away.

Without the United States to serve as a deterrent to Iran, Israel would have to defend itself with its hole card, the Samson Option; for Israel cannot survive any first-strike …

Continue to reflect on a world without a United States, without a Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Britain—all of these nations having lost half or more of their population at the Second Passover liberation of Israel, and with that percentage of loss, the social fabric of these nations will be shredded. Even Russia will lose about half of its population, while China loses seventy or more percent. Japan will lose half; whereas so-called Third World nations will lose relatively few people.

The stronger the nation’s belief is in God [in Allah], the greater the number of children per family and the better able the nation will be equipped to lose its uncovered firstborns and survive culturally.

So if transitional Babylon is represented by American style culture and economics, transitional Babylon will be greater than the United States alone but will not represent the entirety of humanity … Mexico will continue to soldier on, even without its northern market partners. So too will Indonesia.

Without America’s nuclear umbrella, Israel in the Affliction [the first 1260 days of the seven endtime years] will need to threaten the neo Persian Empire with a form of nuclear destruction that leaves no survivors. However, the nation State of Israel will not have exercised its Samson Option, a hole card that once played cannot be taken back—and a hole card that will make large portions of the globe uninhabitable for far longer than the Thousand Years of the Millennium, even with the clean bomb technology that Israel has.

The Naval physicist I had as a Chemistry teacher my junior year introduced me to the possibilities of the neutron bomb, our possession of which didn’t become public knowledge until Carter’s presidency … apparently the United States had the neutron bomb by 1960, for he had worked on it before leaving the Navy. And most nuclear analysts having studied the small amount of information available on Israel’s nuclear weapons technology believe that Israel’s nuclear program is at least as sophisticated as the United States’ program was between 1955 and 1960, meaning that Israel probably possesses neutron weapons that kill people but leave infrastructure mostly intact.

Prime Minister Netanyahu grew up knowing that Israel could lose no war: its first loss would be the end of the nation-state. He grew up in a much more intense environment than duck and cover or the Cuban missile crisis. Now, consider that President Obama is not a person who grew up in the shadow of the Bomb; for by the time he was in school, the world had been under threat of mutually-assured destruction for long enough the threat wasn’t real. The threat had become the new “normal.”

When President Obama was in 1st-grade, 2nd-grade in Jakarta, the world was experiencing a period of global cooling that was being compared to the effects of a global nuclear winter. But as 6 and 7 year old, he has no frame of reference for comprehending the warming and cooling cycles of the earth. Later, as a high school student, he had frame of reference for comprehending business cycles. As a post-Vietnam college student, he had no frame of reference for comprehending wars and rumors of war. Frankly, he is an emotional babe, more effected by the color of his skin than by climate change that caused Russia to buy wheat on the American Commodities Market and give us an economic lesson in 1972, the story of which will be told at another time.

President Obama really has little in common with Prime Minister Netanyahu, who knows what war is; who knows what it’s like to live in a neighborhood of bullies; who knows that the buried anger of Ishmael’s descendants would cause them to kill him in a heartbeat if they could … what is three millennia in world history; in the history of Abraham’s family? Is this not a small amount of time? And if three millennia is a small amount of time, what is two and a half centuries, America’s age?

The conflict between Islam and Israelis predates Moses; predates either Judaism or Islam and goes back to when Ishmael was fourteen and Isaac was newly born.

Should not the eldest son inherit from his father? No, not before God. The last shall be first, and the first shall be last. Why? Why should not the first be first? Answer if you can.

Permit me to pick up this question in a later writing—

President Obama is barely older than my eldest daughter. It’s claimed that he was mature for his age. So, how mature is a “mature” seven year old? How mature is a “mature” twelve year old? I was a high school freshman, the top of my class academically, the physically largest freshman. Does this mean that I was mature? Only in relationship to other twelve-year-olds. So compare the emotional and psychological maturity of President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu …

The President is “mature” for his fifty years. What about the Prime Minister? Who would you trust more to tell you the truth? The person who holds the Samson Option, and who will use this option if necessary; or the person who returns to playing golf twenty minutes after speaking about the beheading of an American journalist?

President Obama cannot envision someone not caring enough about life—not caring about the lives of his enemies—to actually execute the Samson Option, taking from all of humanity their lives because this “all” would not stand up for the small and the few and are therefore unworthy of living.

So there is no ambiguity, permit me to repeat myself: President Obama as a former community organizer cares about oppressed peoples, but he cannot truly relate to the oppressed for he himself has never been oppressed. He cannot comprehend why a person would kill himself or herself; he cannot comprehend Samson’s mindset as Samson was chained to temple pillars. And this can be ascertained with certainty because of how thin-skinned the President is. Therefore, the secondary title of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals pertains to the President: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals. The President is both pragmatic and realistic. The Samson Option is not pragmatic: it presents the person with an absolute. Pull the handle and permanently destroy the world. Pull the handle and kill everyone, yourself included. The Samson Option is an Islamic suicide bomber on global steroids. And only someone able to project him or herself into the mindset of a suicide bomber can comprehend the earthly finality of the Samson Option, a finality that says I would rather my people live in heaven than suffer as my people suffered under Hitler, even if there are no more of my people than presently live.

Without belief in the existence of God, no person will execute the Samson Option. But with belief, the Samson Option challenges God to intervene—actually forces God’s hand, neither for good nor for evil.

The cosmic power most opposed to the Samson Option is the Adversary, a murderer from the beginning, but a murderer who wants to prove that self-rule is not only viable but superior to top-down governance. The Samson Option would bring to an end his dominion over the single kingdom of this world by bringing the world to its end. Hence, the Samson Option finally gives to human beings—to Israel—godlike power over life and death.

Never Again!

Does Israel have enough kilograms of uranium and plutonium to fracture the earth? When I was in high school, the Soviets detonated a 100 megaton bomb. And employing Euclidean Geometry and Advanced Algebra, I and my high school best friend (a fellow whose working career was as a rocket scientist for NASA), along with the Chemistry teacher, calculated what it would take to fracture the earth: three strategically placed bombs of roughly 100 megatons placed on the Ring of Fire would probably turn the earth into asteroids. A hundred smaller bombs concentrated in an area might do the same … the calculations were scary; for this planet is far more fragile than most people realize.

If President Obama remains in office when Iran gets the Bomb—this is a possibility—he will do everything he can to prevent Israel from exercising the Samson Option: he will use American military forces to try and prevent the Israeli launch of nuclear weapons upon Iran’s launch of its [soon to have] nuclear weapon against Israel. And one thing every person needs to recognize: a threat is no threat unless the threat can be and will be transformed into action.

The spiritual leader of Iran has promised to wipe out Israel. And he will, if not prevented from doing so, wipe out Israel. And if President Obama remains in office, the President will attempt to prevent any Israeli preemptive strike against Iran before Iran launches first.

But put yourself in the position of Iran: would you want to risk the Samson Option, or would it be more advantageous to strike the United States even before the Second Passover liberation of Israel?

America can absorb one hit by a nuclear weapon. We might be able to absorb several; hence President Clinton’s executive order not to launch a counterstrike upon detection of a missile launch against America. But Israel cannot absorb even one hit. Israel really has no choice but to launch on launch …

The world is up-side down: we will guarantee Iran’s territorial integrity as Iran strives to end America’s role as the world’s only superpower. That’s nuts!

Prime Minister Netanyahu understands that Masada is not the example for Israel to emulate: fortress Israel will not withstand a long siege, or a sudden attack. The death of 900 plus guerilla fighters at Masada cost Rome some money, but didn’t hurt Rome or Romans … the death of 3 plus million Jews in Israel will not hurt Moscow, or Berlin, or London, or Washington D.C. What will hurt is a nuclear winter that kills plant life for years, or splintering the earth into asteroid size pieces of rock. Take your choice, if you have a choice. Either keep Iran from getting nuclear weaponry, or accept the reality of the Samson Option.

Has Prime Minister Netanyahu hijacked America foreign policy? Yes, he has. Both his and his people’s lives depend upon what we do. Perhaps it is then only fair that our lives also depend upon what we do.

President Obama behaves as a spoiled child. In Netanyahu declaring, Never Again, the Prime Minister took the President’s teething ring from him, with the Prime Minister being, perhaps, the only adult in the room.

And Russia remains out there, its plan to be the only superpower proceeding on. If Russia really feared the Samson Option, they would not have allowed their top Jewish physicists to immigrate to Israel when the Soviet Union collapsed. So does Russia really believe in the doctrine of the Third Rome; really believe that the Church will protect the nation?
